At heart, I like taking appealing photographs of simple, yet key, moments for posterity.
Photography is my way to be more present in particular moments and enjoy those moments all over again in the future. It’s for nostalgia.
A good photograph lives in the past by default. It shouldn’t leave you in awe at first sight, but should intrigue and invite you to contemplate it and transport you to a foreign place in a resolute time. I strive to create this effect in my photos, which is part of a life-long journey of learning.
I was born and raised on the small island of Djerba, in Tunisia, and lived in Saint-Denis, France for about 10 years. In my teens, I fell in love with Japan where I ended up living through the Tōhoku Earthquake in March 2011. After that, I moved to San Francisco, California since October 2011 and have been here ever since.
